Oregon Health & Science University, Department of Computer Science and Engineering

The Center for Human-Computer Communication is a research center within the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in the OGI School of Science & Engineering, at the Oregon Health & Science University.

CSE research areas include: natural and artificial systems; human-computer interaction; programming language technology and formal methods; distributed and mobile computing, operating systems and networking; spoken language systems; computer engineering, adaptive systems, machine learning and more.


CSE Degree Program
Candidates for the CSE degree program typically hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, one of the biological or physical sciences, or one of the quantitative social sciences, however candidates from nontraditional backgrounds are encouraged to apply as well.
Master’s and PhD

Applications for admission to the master's program are accepted and evaluated year-round, for admittance in any quarter. Recommended application dates are:
· For Fall Quarter 2004: apply by July 26, 2004; international students by
June 21, 2004.
· For Winter Quarter 2005: apply by October 25, 2004; international students
by September 20, 2004.
· For Spring Quarter 2005: apply by January 17, 2005; international students
by December 13, 2004.
· For Summer Quarter 2004: apply by April 11, 2005; international students by
March 7, 2005.
Applications for admission to the Ph.D. program are due March 1 for enrollment the following fall.
