Human-Computer Interaction

Thank you for your interest in my Bio

I am a student at WSU Tri-Cities and the author of this web page, my first. I have come from a previous career in Product Development Engineering and am studying to obtain a B.A. in Digital Technology & Culture. I am enjoying the opportunities afforded in the program to experience widely varying and surprising forms of communication. (Ever read a Pine Tree? Many parts are legible!) My plans are to graduate in May of 2005, and pursue a career in (I don't know what yet.) This uncertainty does not overwhelm me, because I have recognized how broad are the opportunities to use the knowledge I am acquiring. This is true in personal life as well as in career. Each class brings more understanding of the broad changes that are taking place in our widely varying cultures. This is the true significance of Digital Technology.

The debate is not what technology can do…but about who we are in the digital age. The insights need are not technical… but humanistic, a sense of how people interact in society. Here members of the computer community have no monopoly of understanding.
