"It's not clear how these habits will now being to change with the spread of hypertextual materials; but there is nothing about the form of such materials"(Burbules,107).

Could it be that my reliance on the connection my cell phone gave me, created a desperate, needy, completely dependent monster that was incapable of survival without it?

That's just not the way that we are supposed to live. In the years pre-cell phone reliance, I was able to wake on time with my alarm clock, tell time with my watch, research in the library, listen to the radio on my radio, and call for help with the telephone, or walk upstairs to ask my neighbor for some help jumping my car, People today, self included, have become so attached to our phones that when faced with an issue, panic without it and crawl into our caves without them. We marvel at those who can live without their phones because they are ok with being more disconnected. The fact of it though, is that there needs to be more of a balance between enjoying the convenience of our phones and its total reliability, because you never know when your phone will choose to take a bath while you aren't looking.
